Add a 17” screen and you have yourself a true desktop replacement, all for a reasonable price. For around $849 you also get a 500GB hard drive, 4GB DDR3 memory and Windows 7 Home Premium. The laptop looks nice as well, with a glossy lid and clean lines. Inside the system, the keyboard is mate and flat and a glossy frame around the display. It weighs 7 pounds, so you can’t say it is super heavy. In this way, you will still be able to carry it around with you. Another example of a Gateway laptop is the NV7915u model, with Intel Core i3 processor, HDMI port, comfortable keyboard, multi touch touchpad and less bloatware to get rid of. This is still a 17.3” system, but less expensive compared to the previous model. Among other specs we can add the 500GB hard drive, Intel GMA HD, 4GB DDR3 SDRAM and Windows 7 Home Premium. We can still include this laptop in the “desktop replacement” category. As well, regarding design, you can still see the glossy lid inside with the honeycomb pattern and the matte black keyboard. This laptop is highly recommended if you want an “all inclusive” alternative and you still don’t want to break the bank.
Next, we have Gateway NV7802u, inexpensive, delivering high performance, good battery life and a appealing design. Offering a 17” widescreen, you have all the needed ports, Intel Core 2 Dup processor, 4GB DDR memory and a large 500 GB hard drive. For everyday computing and even a reliable system at the office, this Gateway model will handle all your tasks with ease and will make you look good. A more portable choice is Gateway NV51B05u Fusion, with a 15.6” display, priced less than $500 and with the basic graphics capabilities. But the small price has some drawbacks as well, as you can’t call this laptop a horsepower addition, but if you are looking for something in the budget and with decent configuration, then you can easily rely on it.
And last, but not least as there are a lot more models to add, Gateway EC5809u is your 15” thin laptop you want to drag around all the time. And even the battery life will keep you working. If you are not that interested in performance, but in a long battery life and a clean and slim look, then you can opt for this laptop computer anytime.
