Macbook Pro Software Update Won't Restart






For a few months my macbook pro hasn't restarted when i am trying to get software updates. i get the background associated with restart but the computer doesn't restart. 'shut down' and 'start. I have a 2010 macbook pro, version 10.6.8 mac os x. i need to update my java so i clicked "software update" and finished updating everything fine (this... macrumors forums. forums macs macbook pro won't restart after updates. please help, can't find a solution.. My macbook won't restart/shut down after installed the newest os x sierra....everytime the installation is done and the macbook have to restart it only shut down my menubar and the folders. it stay's on the desktop and won't restart..
