By andy rathbone . when you’re tired of fiddling with your scanner’s built-in software, turn to the simple scanning app bundled with windows 10. dubbed simply scan, the new app doesn’t work with older scanners, unfortunately.. Many user’s experienced the missing app store issue due to corruption of files during the upgrade from the earlier versions of windows to windows 10 in both the start menu and the tiles mode. the store icon, if not missing is usually not clickable.. Just upgraded to windows 10 and my nice hp software for scanning has just disappeared. tried to download the hp suggestion but it's still not there. i've had to resort to keying in printer's ip address which comes up with a very basic scanning system (ie only 1 page per .pdf file) and does not allow cropping etc..
